Snitz Creek

Where can I find it? The Snitz Creek meets the Quittapahilla Creek directly next to the sewage disposal plant in North Cornwall Township, less than a 1/4 of a mile south of Rt. 422 and 1/4 mile east of Dairy Rd.

The Snitz Creek begins in Cornwall northwest of the mine and north of Iron Master road. Heading

Before the Snitz Creek crosses under Rt. 72, two branches flow into the creek. The first branch begins in Cornwall just north of the mine. The second branch orginates at the intersection of Rt. 72 and Rt. 117.

Flowing north just west of Rt. 72, the Snitz Creek turns northwest about 1/2 of a mile west of the K-mart/Lowes Shopping Center. The creek continues flowing northwest before passing the Wengert's Dairy and then flowing into the Quittapahilla Creek.

Drainage Area: 12.4 square miles

Stream Length: approx. 7 miles (5.2 miles point-to-point)

Elevation at Origin: 616.8ft

Elevation at End: 446.2ft
